Not Yo' Mama's Gumbo


Super simple and quick! If you want that gumbo flavor but don't want to be cooking all day long. I like mine without the seafood. Feel free to add shrimp or crab or whatever your heart desires.

Total time: 40 minutes
Prep time: 15 mins
Cook time: 25 mins

Ingredients:
-Zataran's Gumbo mix with rice


-1 pack Hilshire farm chicken smoked sausage, sliced
-1 1/2 cups of rice (Even though it comes with rice, I also make my own. I like a lot of rice!)
-1lb cooked chicken
-8 oz cut Okra
-6 cups water

Directions:
-Heat water and gumbo mix in a large sauce pan.

-Add chicken and sausage. Bring to boil.

-Add cut okra. Let simmer for 25 minutes.

-Serve over white rice (optional)
