Finger Lickin' Fried Chicken
I like simple, easy recipes that anyone can make. We are on a budget, so I don't like to spend a ton of money on extra ingredients and spices that are considered luxury. I try to utilize what we have and leave out the extras. Here is a recipe for fried chicken that is juicy and delicious without all the bells and whistles.
Total time: 35 mins
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 25 mins
Ingredients:
-2lbs of chicken (I used drumsticks because that's what we had in our freezer)
-1 gallon ziplock freezer bag
-1 cup flour
-Seasoning salt
-Pepper
-1 tbs cayenne pepper
-30oz vegetable oil (about half the bottle)
Directions:
-Heat oil in deep fryer or large skillet.
-Season chicken with seasoning salt, pepper.
-Put flour in ziplock bag, add seasoning salt, cayenne pepper and mix.
-Add chicken to bag with flour and shake until flour coats chicken entirely.
-Gently place chicken in oil and fry for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
-Remove chicken from oil and dry on paper towel.
Enjoy!
